Turtle Bay brunch aren’t two words I realistically would have put in the same sentence but hellooo honey! Lets be honest, the majority of us know Turtle Bay for its rum and at 2-4-1 it’s often the place to pre-drink but the food has never really been on my ‘must do’ list. However when given the opportunity to try the brunch, something I should really do more often, I just had to see what it was offering. There are plentyyy of options on the menu I actually struggled with what to pick. After much umm’ing and ahh’ing, I ordered the ‘jerk sausage & eggs’ Roti Roll. It was a pleasant surprise to see they had beef sausages, as someone who doesn’t eat pork, I’m often limited on breakfast options. I also ordered a portion of the ‘Johnny Cakes’ which let me say, might just be the best fried dumplings I have…
I should probably start by saying this was my first time trying Tapas, so thank you Rosa. Also thank youuuu Alec for being fab and making life easier by selecting the dishes for us, I would have taken a lifetime! Now admittedly Ive always been apprehensive of trying tapas (a range of small plates) as being the foodie I am, much prefer a huge plate in front of me and worry about leaving still hungry lol. I didn’t leave hungry, we thank God! Myself and veggie Hope, were kindly given a selection of the dishes and cocktails to try and for a relatively busy Friday evening, the service was super speedy. Give me it allllll Our first dish was home-made bread and paprika butter (if I remember correctly) and its safe to say I could have eaten a crate of that alone! Though If you know me, even a little, you’ll know the Denver…
Apologies as this post is definitely overdue! A taste of Cuba A few weeks ago a group of us Bristol Bloggers and Influencers were lucky enough to spend the evening at The Cuban, Bristol based in the centre/Harbourside. Props to Socialight and Heather for organising this one! I’m really outdoing myself with all this eating out but who’s complaining. On arrival the manager Ellie, introduced herself and what would the night would be about. Whilst waiting for everyone to arrive I had a lovely chat with a few of the other girls and managed to get some pictures of the decor. The effort put in to really give you the Cuban experience was apparent and I couldn’t actually believe how spacious it is inside. There is a main bar, stage, smaller bar, dining area and even a dance floor type space… and breathe. Mojito, Mojito We sat around the smaller bar to take part in a Mojito masterclass. Now anything made with alcohol amazes me…
The Ashville Steakhouse Those who know me know that steak is my absolute FAVE! It doesn’t matter where I go, I’ll always look for the steak option lol. Up until now, sadly nothing had beaten the steak I mentioned in Birthday Baecation but boyyy do we have a contender with The Ashville! Side note* I am actually giving up red meat soon (I say this with a tear) In my quest to eventually go vegetarian but that is a story for another time. I had heard of The Ashville prior so I was buzzing when Socialight hooked the whole thing up. Its located in Southville, easy to find and was a nice change to the usual hustle and bustle of the city centre. This had no impact on the atmosphere though as from the outside you could see it was pretty busy! I visited on Saturday evening and on arrival we were greeted by the lovely owner Sandor who promptly…
Mum’s the word! In true Mothers Day spirit of course I lifted the burden of cooking off my fab mum for the day! The bottomless roast menu (Disclaimer – Drinks are bottomless, not food) at Steam Bristol seamed perfect as mum loves a good ol’ roast beef! However as I mentioned in Sunday Funday, I prefer a more Caribbean style Sunday lunch. So its only fair that views are of my mums for todays post. Sweet her to have her first blog debut lmao! As there was a slight confusion with our booking we unfortunately didn’t get to try the starter that comes with the bottomless menu. Though the table next to us did and completely cleaned the plate so I’m guessing it was good. (Well either that or they eat anything lol). There was a good selection of drinks to choose from including Beer, Ale, Wine and Prosecco. My mum ordered a white wine which was promptly filled up by…
Hello beautiful people! Following on from my previous Nutribuddy post, I thought id catch you all up with a quick, and of course honest, review. Snowed in! But first, I have to mention the weather we’ve just experienced. Snow in March? Like let us live. Not only did it ruin my London plans but it was just really nothing but an inconvenience. The only thing I gained from it was 4 duvet days and I literally ate and binge watched Scandal my way through them all. My car did not move from Wednesday evening to Sunday afternoon lol. Of course I could have been much more productive with my time but you know.. life! Back to biz! Now this really is a quick update as yet again I’m writing this post in work like the rebel I am. If you have me on Instagram or Snapchat I doubt you managed to miss my numeroussssss boomerangs of the shake lol. I had way too much fun with it! Though if you did, I was…
