Mum’s the word!
In true Mothers Day spirit of course I lifted the burden of cooking off my fab mum for the day! The bottomless roast menu (Disclaimer – Drinks are bottomless, not food) at Steam Bristol seamed perfect as mum loves a good ol’ roast beef!
However as I mentioned in Sunday Funday, I prefer a more Caribbean style Sunday lunch. So its only fair that views are of my mums for todays post. Sweet her to have her first blog debut lmao!
As there was a slight confusion with our booking we unfortunately didn’t get to try the starter that comes with the bottomless menu. Though the table next to us did and completely cleaned the plate so I’m guessing it was good. (Well either that or they eat anything lol). There was a good selection of drinks to choose from including Beer, Ale, Wine and Prosecco. My mum ordered a white wine which was promptly filled up by our waitress every time her glass neared empty. Serious brownie points apparently! I stuck with water as I was driving, as usuallllll.
Roast with the Most
We didn’t have to wait too long for our meal, which was great as we were both absolutely starving. I had no complaints with my chicken and according to mum the beef was really well cooked (medium). The roasties and Yorkshire pudding were everything you expect them to be, crispy on the outside and filled with light and fluffy goodness. The sides of green beans, swede, carrots and baby potatoes were a nice buttery, seasoned touch. Cooked in my eyes perfectly as I love vegetables with a slight crunch. Also by the time we had finished our meals the bowl of cauliflower cheese had been completely demolished and I don’t eat it.. so its safe to say mum loved that! The only comment my mum made and I agree was that the baby potatoes could have been cooked for slightly longer.
Myself and mum both had a lovely Mothers Day lunch in a cosy venue, so I think we will definitely have to go back and try the bottomless SoCal Brunch soon!
Thank you Steam Bristol, from myself and mum!
